Just an FYI, as a lawyer, to fellow photobloggers — I was reminded of this because one of the ladies in the last photo told me I was not “allowed” to take a pic of the kids, and I passed a number of “no photos” signs at Carnaval Sunday: You have the right to take pictures of anything on public view, while you are on public property. Using a photo you’ve taken of a stranger for commercial purposes, using a zoom lens to look into a window of a private residence, and taking photos on private property (like inside a store) are another matter. But when someone tells you you can’t take a photo of something on public display in a public place, feel free to nod politely and ignore him or her.
